There is a missing piece of Utah’s history that needs to be told: the Black experience.
The Black in Utah Oral History Collection aims to fill that missing piece of Utah’s past by recording, preserving, and sharing the lived experiences of Blacks in the Beehive State.
The Black in Utah Oral History Collection is part of the People’s of Utah Revisited initiative which “seeks to widen the lens on Utah’s history and amplify the voices that have not been heard.” With a grant from the Utah Historical Society, the Black in Utah Oral History Collection seeks to record and preserve interviews with Black Utahns.
